Our Founder & Principal

Mrs. Akua Tutu, the visionary behind Lotus International School, is an educator with over 50 years of teaching experience in both Ghana and the United States. She dedicated 24 years to Ghana International School (GIS), where she pioneered educational trips across various regions in Ghana, enriching students’ learning beyond the classroom. Her dedication and innovation earned her GIS’s first-ever Best Teacher Award.

With a passion for holistic education and student development, Mrs. Tutu founded Lotus International School to provide high-quality, personalized education, ensuring every child builds a firm foundation for the future.

She holds a BSc in Business Administration from Ashesi University, an MBA in Human Resource Management, and was a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), certified in April 2021.

Her career spans manufacturing, insurance, and investment brokerage, where she held key roles in administration, HR, and operations before transitioning to education. She believes in a democratic leadership approach, maintaining an open-door policy for all members of the Lotus community, fostering collaboration, inclusivity, and shared growth.

Her guiding principle is: “Creating an environment where every learner discovers their strengths, every teacher feels valued, and every parent trusts in the journey—building a foundation for success that lasts beyond the classroom.”

Her vision for Lotus is for it to thrive beyond her leadership, continuing to provide exceptional educational opportunities tailored to the unique strengths of each learner.
